Project Background
Dakota County Library is seeking artist proposals for a public art installation in the lobby of the Wentworth Library in West St. Paul, MN. The library is currently undergoing a renovation to update building infrastructure and refresh interior design, and is anticipated to reopen in the spring of 2026. This 2D art will help create an inviting and visually interesting space to welcome visitors into the library, and reflect the vibrance and diversity of the West St. Paul community.

To apply:
Interested artists should submit a proposal by 4:30 pm on October 16, 2025. Proposals should contain following items:
1) Cover letter or letter of interest (1 page maximum) Letter should be at the front of the proposal and shall include the following:
a. Contact information- artist’s name, address, phone number, email address and website if applicable
b. Please explain why you are interested in this project.
2) Work Samples: maximum 10 JPEG images of existing artwork
3) Include a description of proposed approach to this project and / or JPEG image(s) of previously completed art which meets the requirements.
4) Proposals should be submitted in a .pdf as an email smaller than 10MB or in an emailed link to an FTP site. Proposals should be ready to print on 8 1/2” x 11” paper. Sequentially number all pages in the proposal. Proposals should not exceed 5 pages.
